Understanding Divine Timing

One thing that has been on my mind of late as we move through this ever unfolding process of the return to self, is divine timing.

Let’s be honest, sometimes it just doesn’t feel like things are moving quickly enough.

I was prompted to ask the question in a recent workshop “Do you feel like certain elements of your life are on hold right now?”.

The answer from so many was a resounding “Yes!”. This has been the case for me as well.

I feel like I am ready to move forward. There are changes in my personal life which I know are on the horizon, but the circumstances to make it actually happen always seem to be just out of reach.

In these situations, many of us, myself included, will say to ourselves, “all things in divine timing”.

I think this helps provide comfort.

“It is ok if I have to keep waiting, because if I wait for Divine Timing it will be even better”  we say to ourselves.

But what if by doing this, we are actually always keeping that thing in the future? What if we are always pushing it away?

If it is always ahead of us, it can never be here.

Today I want to take a little look at divine timing, about what it actually means and why we have more control over it than we might think.

The most common interpretation of divine timing is that “it will happen when it is meant to”. As if the Universe has ordained that the package we have been waiting for all day is not meant to arrive until 2:22 PM.

And yes, sometimes this is absolutely the case.

But more commonly, what it actually means is that it will arrive when we are ready for it to arrive.

The Law of Attraction teaches us that “Like attracts Like”. It is the idea that we draw to us the things that are equal to our current state of vibration.

Like those days when you wake up and stub your toe on the end of the bed, get frustrated, and things just get worse and worse from there.

The Law of Attraction would describe this not as one of the unluckiest days of our life, but as one event shifting our vibration, after which we continue to attract experiences that add to that frustration because it is the energy we are sharing into the world around us.

The same is true for divine timing. When you are vibrating at equal frequency to the thing that you are waiting for, it will naturally arrive because of a resonant match.

Think of a parachuter trying to land on a moving train. Random I know but stick with me…

The train is constantly moving and the parachuter is adjusting constantly, trying to line things up perfectly so that they can meet safely at exactly the right time.

You are the train, ever moving forward, ever growing.

The parachuter is your manifestation. It is already here. It is just working to align itself so that when you are in the right place to catch it, the two meet perfectly.

From this perspective, the secret to manifestation is to become the person that is ready to receive it.

That means letting go of anything that would separate you from your desires.

I am sure there are many of us who feel like we have been trying to manifest financial abundance for years. It may feel like it is never going to happen. It may feel like you have wasted your energy in trying.

But the truth is, if you are actively working on this, if you are regularly pursuing it, then what you are doing is shedding everything that would keep that abundance at a distance.

This means releasing any identity structures around lack, unworthiness and anything else that may be limiting your ability to accept abundance. Sadly these patterns can run deep and therefore take a lot of time to clear.

That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not working. It just means that you are still working to become the person who is ready to receive it.

And this is the true meaning of Divine Timing.

It doesn’t necessarily mean that your manifestation is ordained to arrive in exactly 333 days, 22 hours and 11 minutes and we just have to sit back and wait.

It means it will arrive when you have done what you need to do to be ready for it.

And that means that we have the power.

Through consciously and actively facing the aspects of ourselves that are out of alignment with who we want to be, we can bring massive change.

We can change who we are.

And when we do that, we change our lives.

It is simply a matter of Choice and Will. Making the commitment to do what we need to in order to achieve our goals, and finding the strength inside to push forward and make it happen.

Rounding back on what I said at the start about many of us feeling like we are stuck waiting right now. Melchizedek shared his wisdom on this with me and it beautifully illustrates what we have been talking about today with Divine Timing.

He said the thing that you are waiting for now is not for you. It is for the person you are becoming.

All year long we have been working, whether subconsciously or consciously to return to our authentic selves.

This new version of you is here. It is just waiting below the surface.

The more we recognise it. The more we choose to let go of false identity structures. The more quickly we are able to claim all that is awaiting us.
