Welcome to part 2 of my journal, where I take the opportunity to talk more about spirituality, current energies, and the collective ascension.
I wanted to continue this week where we left off last time, talking about the soul. In particular, I want to explore a topic which I think can often be misunderstood, the difference between the Higher Self and the I AM Presence. It is not uncommon to see these two terms used interchangeably, or somewhat ambiguously. But understanding them is important when it comes to recognising who we are as so much more than a physical being.
There is reason for the confusion around this subject though. It does get a bit tricky. But stick with me my friend, and we will navigate this journey together.
Last week we discussed the Monad, that beautiful divine spark that chose to experience life and so expressed itself into the soul (or souls, we will look at that another time), in order to explore the universe, to learn, to grow, and to discover what it truly means to be perfect. If you missed last week’s email, you can read it here.
The Monad is essentially pure Source. It is perfection, it is infinite, and most importantly, at least in the context of this conversation, it is the ultimate expression of unity. It is God, and therefore it is one with all things, because God is alive in all things.
But the Monad is not conscious as we would typically understand it. It is alive, but not in the way we usually think of awareness.
And so, in order for the Monad to experience life, whilst still maintaining its state of unity, it expresses itself into form, into individuality. So that it can exist as something unique, undertaking its own journey, whilst remaining inseparable from its divine origin. This is where the I AM Presence comes into play.
Last week, I used the analogy that if Source is the ocean, then the Monad is a drop of water within that ocean. It is the ocean, and yet it can also be experienced as a single point within it.
Still with me? 😂
God goes by many names. We can call it Source, we could call it the Universe, we can call it whatever resonates with us. But in the biblical story where Moses speaks to God through the burning bush, God introduces itself as “I AM that I AM”. We have all heard the expression “I AM”, it is used at the beginning of many mantras.
“I AM” represents the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the divine father and mother principle. So to state “I AM” is to acknowledge infinite being, unity itself. It is to bring that awareness into whatever follows, which is why it holds such power within a mantra.
So from this understanding, we can begin to see that the I AM Presence is the presence of “I AM” within us.
If the Monad is pure Source, and the I AM Presence is the expression of the Monad, then we can also say that the I AM Presence is God within us.
OK great, but what is it?
The I AM Presence is the Monad expressing itself into individuality so that it becomes self-aware.
It is our divine identity. The highest expression of who we are, the aspect of us that remains in alignment with truth, unity, and perfection. You could say it is the point at which being becomes “I”.
When we say we are God, we are perfect, or we are unity, we are referring to the I AM Presence within us.
This presence of God exists within us all, no matter who you are. Whether you are fast asleep or wide awake, it is what brings life to our physical bodies. It is the reason we are all sisters and brothers. It is the same divine origin alive in each and every one of us. We all connect back to the same point of existence, through the I AM Presence, to the Monad, to Source.
The Antahkarana Bridge, sometimes referred to as the Rainbow Bridge, is what maintains this connection. It keeps us connected to all aspects of our greater being across time and dimensional space. It begins at Source, draws down through the Monad, through the soul, through all of our bodies and fields, and eventually connects into our physical body. As it does so, it separates into three threads, one of which is known as the life thread and connects directly into the heart.
This is what allows the I AM Presence to anchor within us, held within a subtle chamber at the centre of the energetic heart, where it is often experienced as the Threefold Flame, the living presence of the divine within.
This is a vast subject in its own right, which we will be diving into again in the near future, so stay tuned.
At this point, I realise I have written far more than I intended to, but I really hope it is useful, so I am reluctant to cut it.
So let’s leave our discussion here for this week, and we will pick it up again next time when we take a closer look at the Higher Self.
Wishing you the most beautiful week ahead.
Sending lots of love
David (Team Essery) 🙏💛
